Automobile sector

The engineering services offered by Barcelona Technical Center (Btechc) are mainly geared towards OEMs (vehicle manufacturers) TIER 1s (parts manufacturers) and large engineering companies. We provide comprehensive project management, from concept to industrial implementation.

Product development

Our product development department for the automobile sector is geared towards meeting the needs of large OEMs and TIER 1s. Btechc is currently working on several products to develop parts for both light and heavy vehicles, collaborating with most of the large companies in the sector.

CAE Simulation

By using finite element analysis, we can develop products in a much more efficient way, with the resulting reduction in time and costs. Likewise, computer-aided engineering (CAE) ensures that the products designed comply with all of the client’s requirements.

Assembly processes

Our assembly processes department of the automotive division is geared towards meeting the needs of large OEMs and TIER1s. The scope of Btech’s involvement in the processes arena is limited to providing engineering solutions, not carrying out the building phase. We can develop the project in full or part.

Aeronautics

Our main activity and the aeronautic sector focuses on designing equipment for Airbus assembly line providers.

We work to Airbus A320 and A350 standards, with dedicated CATIA v5 environments (Airbus suite). We also have the Airbus Trace Parts libraries.

Rail

Product design

Upon our clients’ request, we develop design solutions for the rail sector. We carry out our work according to the conditions provided by the client and/or sector standards (EN 12663, EN 61737, EN 15083, GOST 30631, etc.) We have teams of engineers specialising in interiors, tanks, WC modules, storage, bunk modules, etc.

CAE Simulation

By using finite element analysis, we can develop products in a much more efficient way, with the resulting reduction in time and costs. Likewise, computer-aided engineering (CAE) ensures that the products designed comply with all of the client’s requirements.

For this reason, Btechc has a calculation department made up of specialised engineers to provide support in the product development process, as well as carrying out specific calculation projects.

WC Modules

  • Static requirements:
    • The components or equipment mounted on the train’s frame or chassis must be calculated in accordance with the manufacturers’ standards: EN 12663 EN 61737, etc.
    • In general these standards aim to ensure the integrity of the equipment and its anchoring in the case of impact or sharp movements that are out of the ordinary
    • To do so, we apply acceleration fields to the equipment in semi-static calculations
  • Dynamic requirements:
    • Obtaining vibration modes for the WC module
    • Applying power spectrums established in EN 61737 standards
    • Analysing module durability when subjected to dynamic studies as per EN61737, EN 12663 standards, etc.

Tanks

  • Static requirements:
    • Calculations in accordance with the manufacturers’ standards: EN 12663 EN 61737, etc.
    • Simulation of operability conditions (filling/emptying)
    • Simulation of destructive test conditions: overpressure and impact
  • Dynamic requirements:
    • Obtaining vibration modes for the tank in filling and emptying
    • Applying power spectrums established in EN 61737 standards
    • Analysing tank durability when subjected to dynamic studies as per EN61737, EN 12663, etc.
